Insurance

Customers must carry adequate insurance and provide a Certificate of Insurance (COI) for any orders containing any of the following:

  • Equipment whose total replacement value exceeds $5,000.00
  • Vehicles
  • Large and/or potentially dangerous equipment

*NGP reserves the right to require a Certificate of Insurance for any order/customer, regardless of whether or not it meets the above specifications.

COI Requirements for Rentals

General Liability

  • Per Occurrence — $1,000,000
  • Personal Injury — $1,000,000
  • General Aggregate — $1,000,000
  • Medical Expenses — $5,000

Automobile (If applicable)

  • Commercial Auto Liability CSL (Combined Single Limit) — $1,000,000
  • Non-Owned and Hired Auto Physical Damage — minimum of $100,000 limit
  • Must include coverage for Hired and Non-Owned Automobiles

Inland Marine/Rented Equipment

  • “Misc. Rented Equipment” — $1,000,000*
    • * Lower limits can be accommodated/accepted if the total value of all equipment to be used on the project is less than $1,000,000. The limit, however, must be greater than the total value of equipment on the overall production, inclusive of all vendors. Ask NGP for the latest total estimated replacement cost of all pending rental orders.
  • A reasonable deductible for the inland marine policy must be listed on the certificate (not to exceed $5,000 or 10% of the coverage limit, whichever is lower).
  • COI must specify that this is an “Inland Marine”, “Equipment Floater”, or “Production Package” policy which specifically covers “Miscellaneous Rented Equipment”.
  • Rented equipment must be covered in all geographical locations and circumstances in which the equipment will be transported, stored, and/or used, including during transit.
  • Equipment coverage must be on a replacement cost basis.
  • There must be no warranties or exclusions related to unlocked or unattended vehicles.

Other Notes/Requirements

  • The “Named Insured” on the COI must match the Renter’s legal name, as listed on all other account paperwork.
  • The Certificate Holder listed on the COI should be:

  • Certificate Holder must be specifically listed/included as additional insured and loss payee.
  • All policies must be valid for at least the full duration of all rentals (including pickup/drop-off).
  • These coverages must be evidenced by a standard certificate of insurance (COI) issued by an authorized representative of the insurance carrier.
